I just love liberals...can't beat people in the realm of ideas, so your solution is to try to silence those with whom you disagree. Wasn't this a tactic of Adolf Hitler and his crowd? Oh, I'm sorry, you're probably all too uneducated in history to know this fact.

Hey Janet,

Hitler and the Karl Rove of his days, Joel Goebel silenced the people by creating and editing the news. They controlled the main newspapers and accused anybody that disagreed with them unpatriotic and shameful to the country. Sound familiar. Just start opening your eyes a little. Liberals don't have to call Republicans names they have the facts on their side.

Janet,

You're too uneducated to know the difference between real Hitler wannabes and those who are trying to hold them accountable.

Now buzz off, loser.

I have heard this quote many, many times. "Democrats think the glass is half full, Republicans think the glass is theirs." We don't silence anyones ideas, we listen to others, and if what we hear from others requires telling someone to shut it, then we'll do it. At least us Liberals don't change others words around and make up false statements ro publicity and uneeded attention.

So, where did the term 'global warming' come from?
We made it up!

Aided and abetted by duped media hysteria based on the myth of human influence on the historic evolution of global climate change:

This planet has been here over four billion years. We've been here for a hundred thousand. We've been engaged in heavy industry for two hundred years. Two hundred as opposed to 4.5 billion!

Are we really so conceited and arrogant that we believe some plastic bags, a bunch of aluminum beer cans and light bulbs are going to put this globe into jeopardy?

This planet has been through earthquakes, volcanoes, plate tectonics, solar flares, sun- spots, magnetic storms, pole reversals, planetary floods, worldwide fires, tidal waves, wind and water erosion, cosmic rays, ice ages, and hundreds of thousands of years of bombardment by comets, asteroids, and meteors.

And it's still happening! Hundreds of active volcanoes today spewing millions of tons of sulphur and CO2 into the atmosphere every minute, make any 'man made' contribution insignificant. Mt. St. Helens in one burp spewed more pollutants than all human produced industrial emissions over a period of who knows how long. But I'm sure some 'scientist' will tell us even if we don't ask.

The fear mongering luddites are a well oiled industry and a very profitable one to the propagators of it. Books, papers, 'studies', appearances, interviews, donations, speeches, articles, columns, foundation grants, government grants, 'non profit' tax exempt salaries and web sites with 'donate buttons'. And, as long as it can keep a duped media on side, it will continue to be profitable.

I am no Paul Watson [co-founder of Greenpeace] fan, but in a moment of rare truth, when asked by a reporter what made Greenpeace so successful, he replied:

"It doesn't matter what is true, it only matters what people believe is true.... You are what the media define you to be. Greenpeace became a myth and fund generating machine." ("Forbes", Nov. 1991)

And, do you ever wonder, that when these duped myrmidons drag out the..., "two thousand scientists say"............., that they don't name these 'scientists'? Media types are big on this and because they have no expertise of their own they will spin anything that they think may bring ratings. This "human induced earth warming" myth is simply the latest 'flavor of the month' that has become the trendy fashion of the times. And like all fashions it too will pass. But we may have to pay a high price before this one dies.

Remember,.. the 'Silent Spring' hysteria cost the lives of millions of children in South America before that myth ran its course and DDT was re-introduced. But not before an ignorant media stampeded an also ignorant government bureaucracy. __That was also a high price! And a lot of people who jumped on the "ban DDT" bandwagon made money writing books while populations of children were dying of malaria. Unconscionable!

Now, we have...."Two thousand scientists say...."

Surely there must be a list of names of these 'scientists' and their qualifications. The list has got to be somewhere otherwise how could anyone base their argument on something they can't produce? Find the list, and have it handy when someone doubts your assertion that a Honda idling in the driveway is going to cause the oceans to appear in my back yard. That should not be difficult to do if these 'experts' exist.

Either produce the list, produce your qualifications, or stay silent on the subject, because you have nothing on which to base your argument if your using a phantom........, "Two thousand scientists say...."!

And,by the way, neither Gore nor Suzuki are climate scientists! They are presenters!.....And making a lot of money; which of course, is the purpose of the exercise. They don't care about the environment......anymore than a TV evangelist cares whether he heals your herpes as long as you contribute to the collection plate;.... in Gore/Suzuki's case the 'donate' button on a web site.

WE MADE ALL THE WORDS UP!
Nice George Carlin rant but you stopped short at the line where he says "the planet isn't going anywhere, WE ARE!" and that is the point here, making sure we don't go anywhere when the planet tries to shake us off like the "surface nuisance" that we are. Look, if you shut yourself in your garage and let your stupid honda idle, what will eventually happen? If I tell you will you take my word for it or would I have to go find a scientist? Now imagine all the car and all the power plants running all the time. It's a small world after all.
Enjoy your snooze Max!

I don't understand some of the people trolling on this.

Look, it's actually pretty simple.

If YOU agree that in YOUR opinion there IS a problem with global climate change AND you don't like the Fox Noise method of denying same AND if you want to sign the petition...Have at it!

I personally don't like how many times Inhofe was on screen. I have watched him and listened to him and IN MY OPINION he's a Jerk of the first order.

So, IN MY OPINION, if I can cut back on some of the advertising that supports what I CONSIDER his (and others) drivel about the non-changing climate, then I will do so.

But reading some of the lame half-assed posts from the trolls that I have seen on sites like this is in no way going to change my mind.

So, why don't you just exercise your option to click off and go somewhere that puts up only what you want to hear.

You know, they do have a pretty clever tag line..."Pssssst, Do something!"

It doesn't say bitch and moan about something, now does it?

About Janet's comment

just love liberals...can't beat people in the

silence those with whom you disagree.

It's not just about ideas, it's also about power. Fox's News has real power, the power to misinform large numbers people (victims). In a real market place of ideas, the scientific community, the fact of human caused global warming has won.

Fox doesn't care about ideas, and the only way to prevent them from spreading misinformation is to apply real pressure, hence the need for boycotts and similar measures.

Hey Max,

You can always tell who's been listening to the misinformation about climate change rather than looking at the actual evidence. The volcanos-emit-more-CO2-than-man-has-in-who-knows-how-long is a well known and often de-bunked bit of fossil fuel industry propaganda. If this were true, every time there was a major volcanic eruption - such as Mt St Helen's, we would see a major spike in atmospheric CO2. We don't see any such spikes however, just a long, very even upward trend. The sum total of all volcanoes emit CO2 at a rate about 1/150th that of anthropogenic (man-made) emissions. Also, by analyzing certain isotopes, scientists are able to determine what percentage of the CO2 in the atmosphere comes from burning fossil fuels.

http://www.realclimate.org/index.php?p=87

It's true that we puny humans can't do anything to "destroy" the planet but that isn't the point. We're changing the climate of the earth enough to make it increasingly less hospitable to human life and the societies that we've built based on the relatively stable climate that the earth has enjoyed for hundreds of thousands of years.

Also, If you want a list of the "two-thousand" scentists, I suggest you read the IPCC report an look at the attached signatures.
