"A la carte" cable television would only limit our viewing choices and lead to more salacious programming designed to pander to viewers. If you don't like Fox News, don't watch it or ask the cable company to block it from your home.

Hmmmmmmmmmm What about those who don't want to watch CNN ,MSNBC , CNBC or do you just want people to cut only Fox News out. But you do want the fairness doctrine back?? Just like a democrat. It's always what is convenient for them at that time. If people don't want to watch Fox News don't turn the channel to it ,block it on the cable box or shut you tv off. There are over 100 channels on cable go watch something else and stop being a hypocrite

From Inside Cable News:

The News Corp. report said cable network programming posted operating income of $289 million, an increase of $40 million from the year-ago quarter. The 16% growth reflects increased contributions from Fox News Channel, the regional sports networks and the Fox international channels; however, that growth was partially offset by launch costs associated with the Fox Business Network and the Big Ten Network as well as a lower contribution from FX.

The Fox News Channel more than doubled its operating income compared with the first quarter a year ago, primarily from increased affiliate revenues on higher rates and advertising revenue growth from higher volume and pricing.

And just comming back from a conference--your site was the butt of jokes and reticule--all you are doing is increasing business! Keep up the good work BNF!!!

What these guys don't realize is that if the cable companies go "a la carte" cable they will charge a minimum for cable service of about 40 dollars and let you pick 10 channels which means less channels for more money. Second thing is it will never happen. CNN will lose the few viewers they have and MSNBC will be off the air. They want to hurt Fox News , they will instead hurt other networks and Fox will still come out ahead.
They distort.....we reply

My father watches Fox "news" and loves it. Years ago he watched only the MacNeil/Lehrer Hour, and as a consequence was a well informed, thoughtful citizen. When he retired he began watching more television, and now is addicted to Fox's inept, biased, pandering and ridiculous "news". It such a shame. Now when the family gets together for birthdays, holidays, etc. it is impossible to have an intelligent conversation anymore with dad. He even tried to get a dialouge going about Brittany Spears at my last dinner party...I was shocked and embarressed for him. The tragedy is that his mind has been stunted and warped by this absurd channel. The whole family is so saddend...and dad can't even see how far he has digressed. I would love to opt out of FOX, but is that really the answer? Ignorant people will still watch it religously, and here's the scary part...vote. When European friends are visiting and ask me how a moron like George Bush could get re-elected, I sit them down in front of Fox "news" for an hour...and they get it.

This is stupid, I for one would like to see more gratuitous nudity on Fox News, it's more informative than the rest of the crap they spit out.

Heh, just to spite you, I'm going to go watch porn now.

While I heartily agree with the overall point of the Fox/decency video, I do have to take issue with the wording of the write-up. With few exceptions, no one is "forced" to pay for Fox News. Your cable bill is not like "death and taxes" - you don't have to subscribe. It might be a burdensome choice in many areas, but you do not have to subscribe to cable TV. Please be more precise in the language that you are asking people to endorse.

Anyone see the hypocrisy here? Has Pat Robertson infiltrated BNF and started calling the shots. Since when are liberals and Democrats the arbiters of decency??? Who cares if Fox shows suggestive images? Like Raziorizzo says: change the channel.

As a long-time supporter, I've been really disappointed lately.

Strange how ppl suggest to change the channel instead of opting for "a la carte". The point here isn't whether you watch it or not; the point is that you fund Fox whether you watch them or not. Lets stay focused here.
