FOX using the same attacks on Obama they used against Kerry
Posted on September 5th, 2008 by robertgreenwald

Did you see Barack Obama go on The O’Reilly Factor last night-right into the belly of the beast? While we didn’t want Obama to appear on FOX initially, he wisely chose the same night John McCain delivered his RNC speech (the same night FOX received some of its highest ratings) to make an appearance. Talk about stealing the GOP’s thunder!

Obama was no doubt trying to appeal to conservative voters, since 88% of FOX viewers voted Republican in 2004. But FOX won’t let their conservative base go without a fight. That’s why O’Reilly needled and interrupted Obama, trying to get him to simplify many of his answers-a far cry from the softballs O’Reilly lobbed at many prominent Republicans like Rudy Giuliani in the past. And that’s why FOX has been attacking Obama with the same relentless smear tactics that they used against John Kerry four years ago. Watch them use the exact same attacks.

Don’t let FOX repeat its history of distortions. Send this video to everyone you know! And get a copy to networking sites like Digg as soon as possible. Make sure everyone knows that FOX is always willing to distort, slander, and smear-whatever it takes to advance their conservative agenda.

Do you really think rich people care about America? To make an extra dime, they'll move a factory from the U.S. to Viet Nam, China or Bangladesh. No, there's nothing wrong with being wealthy or making money. However, if you do eveything to the detriment of America, I can call it by only one word and that is GREED. How many products do you think Wal-Mart has made in the U.S. compared to those made in China? Then you want to BLAME Obama for job loss here in the U.S. Talk about a serious case of hyprocricy. Until the problem of greed is solved, America will never be strong again. When you don't care about your own country more than your profit, seems to me like it might be Un-American.

There is a myth within the liberal circles that Bush's tax cuts only help the rich. That is 100% FALSE!!! It affects ALL tax payers. If Obama lets these tax cuts expire, everyone will received less of their hard-earned income. If you make below $34,550, your taxes will increase from 10% to 15%. If you have children, your child credit will decrease from $1000 to $500 per child. If you own stocks or sell assets, which most middle class americans do, your capital gains taxes will increase from 15% to 20% and your qualified income will increase from 15% to whatever your tax bracket determines. If you are married, your standard deduction will decrease, which will increase your taxes.

    Backpack,

The Dems are also talking about passing legislation that will only let the richest of Americans tax cuts expire and doing something about the rest. Still, everyone wants Congress to fix the economy but no one wants to pay for anything. The conservatives want government to cut social programs and keep tax cuts. Only thing is, social programs will effect the most needy.

It's a shame that the party who claim to represent Christ wants to protect the richest of Americans money and take away money from the poorest of Americans. Sounds like good ole Family Values to me!

Yes, and here is Another jewel in Forbes that backpack missed: http://www.forbes.com/2010/04/01/ge-exxon-walma... The fact is, the tax rates revert back to "Reagan days". Why are the repubz so sick about that? They're NOT. It is just political football being played. Yes, Bush and the repubz Talked about making these tax cuts permanent for the top 2% But they didn't do it! And They Could Have at the time. Here is Warren Buffett Telling it like it IS;"Tom Bawden in New York

Warren Buffett, the third-richest man in the world, has criticised the US tax system for allowing him to pay a lower rate than his secretary and his cleaner.

Speaking at a $4,600-a-seat fundraiser in New York for Senator Hillary Clinton, Mr Buffett, who is worth an estimated $52 billion (£26 billion), said: “The 400 of us [here] pay a lower part of our income in taxes than our receptionists do, or our cleaning ladies, for that matter. If you’re in the luckiest 1 per cent of humanity, you owe it to the rest of humanity to think about the other 99 per cent.”

Mr Buffett said that he was taxed at 17.7 per cent on the $46 million he made last year, without trying to avoid paying higher taxes, while his secretary, who earned $60,000, was taxed at 30 per cent.( the whole article here: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/money/tax/arti... )

buster, Mr Buffett is one of the few of the richest people who actually understands the principals of a fair tax system. You know; it isn't so much that the rich should pay higher taxes as much as it is their responsibility; being that they are basically the employers of the world, to see that all their employees and are paid well enough that they can take good care of their families, afford good health care, save enough money for a good pension, and also be able to enjoy some of the finer things of life and take a vacation occasionally.

The way it is now, allot of families have to struggle to keep their heads above water. Both husband and wife has to work which means our children do not get the attention they should have. If a big illness hits a family, being if it's the wife or husband or one of their kids, they have to give up almost everything to survive. Mortgage their homes; lose all their savings. Everything falls apart.

Conservatives will say; well the rich worked hard for their money and they should be allowed to keep it. Hmm! I'm wondering did they work any harder than anyone else did? And did they get wealthy on the backs of their hard-working employees but not paying them decent wages and not giving them decent benefits. And then using their money to sway government to protect their precious money by huge tax cuts.

It's really not the millionaire whose the problem; it's the billionaire who wants to clean house and suck up every single dollar in America and then in every other part of the world. Once they have all the money, they figure that we will be their slaves and we'll have to live off of whatever pittance they'll allow us to. They've got the Conservative Republicans in Congress and even most of the Liberal Democrats in their pocket and all they need to do is keep gaming the system in their favor.

What they don't remember is history and because of that; they are condemned to repeat it. If they keep draining the economy and making even more people poor, it will finally spark a revolution and the destitute will rise up against them. People will only take so much. When it gets to the point that they have to watch their children go hungry while some fat cat sits around talking about all the taxes he has to pay while he keeps paying his measly wages and giving very few benefits to those beneath him, those people will finally decide they're not going to take it anymore and that's when things will change. It's not exactly a good thing because as sure as that happens, some crazy sociopath will fill the leadership vacuum by promising everyone great things, and then becomes a dictator.

This has happened all the way through history and it will happen again because we refuse to see the writing on the wall.
