FOX Continues to Attack Black America
Posted on February 9th, 2009 by ZP Heller

We first created FOX Attacks Black America two years ago in an effort to illustrate FOX’s penchant for airing bigoted views. Not only do they bring on racist guests, but some of the most inflammatory remarks come from African Americans guests like Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson–FOX’s insidious attempt to lend credence to their racial prejudice. And despite Barack Obama’s historic election, the network continues to smear the President and black America with the same kind of hateful rhetoric we saw throughout the election cycle.

On Sean Hannity’s show last week, Peterson said, “I think we all agree that Barack Obama was elected by, mostly by black racists and white guilty people.” Now, Hannity pretended to be shocked by Peterson’s words, but as News Hounds noted, Hannity has had Peterson on the show repeatedly over the years to spout similar bigotry. In December of 2006, for instance, Peterson told Hannity, “Racist blacks have the freedom of expression when it comes to the issue of race and morality… but white folks are made to be quiet and not even mention race.” How did Hannity reply to Peterson during that segment? He merely said, “Always love having you,” and that he was proud to be on the advisory board of Peterson’s organization, BOND Action.

Of course, after Hannity feigned offense this past week, he and Peterson quickly segued into a conversation as to whether Hannity will be considered racist simply for being a white critic of Obama. Then, Hannity gave Peterson the last word, which turned into a racially-loaded rant about socialism and religion. “[Voting is] based on race, and it’s that Democrat ‘Take care of me’ mentality,” Peterson said. “You’ve had most of the black preachers voting for him, and I say that there is no way that you could believe in God and vote for a person like Barack Obama… He’s going to take away from those willing to work hard and give to those willing to work.”

There’s no question that Hannity himself is a bigot. But what FOX does by bringing on guests like Peterson and giving them the last word is to legitimize these racist views because they’re coming from a black reverend and not Hannity’s mouth. Since FOX clearly has no intention of curbing or curtailing racially loaded rhetoric, it might be time for a FOX Attacks Black America sequel.

    Hi all !

I'm watching this debate from Germany and I'm deeply shocked.

I knew that Fox news is a biased, pro-Republican channel, but I did not know that racist ideas are so openly announced, without any critical questioning.

I find that the way fox news is pretending to be a serious news channel, is really obscene.
In Germany, it is still a taboo to express racist ideas in the public. Every time some idiotic Neo-Nazis try to speak out such racism or try to organize demonstrations against foreigners, there is a broad counter movement of honest Germans, peacefully demonstrating their protest against such ideas. And this especially because we Germans know, in retrospect to our own history of the "Third Reich" (The nazi regime), that you have to make a stand against racism from the start.

Nevertheless, I think that black americans should take President Obama as a role model: To keep their own integrity not letting themselves down to the level of fox news. Every decent american should make a stand against such ideas, as this website does. However everybody opposing racist ideas, should rest on firm ground by argueing rationally and not by insulting or using demagogy as fox news does.

Almost all Germans really admire America for the fact, that a black man was elected president, showing that this country provides opportunities for all citizens, regardless of their heritage.

The election of Barack Obama was a historical event further consolidating Americas way to an open society of equal men and women. And this idea is more powerful than any attempt to agitate Americans against each other.

Yes, Fox news is the ultimate form of bigotry. And i Agree CNN and MSNBC are also opinionated but they are not nearly as bad as FOX News.
    Thats why i watch NPR.
I watched each channel to see what they were like and FOX News had the most arguing, O'reilly and Hannity kept cutting people off not letting them finish their sentences and just bashing on people calling them Communist Socialist Liberals.
CNN and MSNBC sure they have a democratic twist on the News but they werent bashing or insulting like FOX News
So we just need to cut the bullshit
  • I have a doubt whether this information is correct or not and by checking others comment I am sure about it.

why does fox news always put self hating black people up there
  • Just Call me AK
Hopefully my comments dont get erased because they disagree with the people who write this website. Because again that would be hypocritical because liberals are the ones who always pride themselves on being so open minded and accepting of other peoples oppinions, so please respect mine. Im not a liberal nor a conservative. I just call how i see it and FOX news is yes of course biased towards republicans but please dont just stop it there because you are a liberal. CNN and MSNBC are so far left there in the Pacific, if it sounds like im defending FOX, im not I'm just pointing out that at the least Fox is no worse than MSNBC or CNN they are just on the republican side so they get all this shit talked about them non stop. FOX news is really the only voice for the republican party on TV. So stop hating so much. Its so hypocrtical to make fun of FOX when MSNBC does the same thing but in my oppinion worse with people like maddow and olbermann who are way farther to there side then at least oreilly is. MSNBC made a dvd called "Yes We Can" in honor of Barack Obama becoming president now of course this isnt bad its just ridiculous because there supposed to be a news station not a place to put out DVD's supporting there candidate. How come you guys never bring any of this stuff up? At least be fair about your critisizms. I think the main thing you people need realize is that no matter what party you belong to. Both parties have corrupt individuals both parties have shady corrupt politicians who are just power hungry. I believe that the truth is somewhere in the middle, there are good repubilicans and good democrats. The people who make these sites need to stop picking on one side and hating on it like there side is perfect. We all need to just come together about shit in the world and forget the democrat and republican bull shit. This site only divides more, come on people. Think for yourselves and realize this shit.

Is this website serious? Or is it just like a joke website? This is the most hypocritical shit i ever witnessed. First of all that first video up top is ridiculous, and it is ridiculous because I have seen all those clips on FOX news and they are all completly out of context, if you heard what the commentator was actually saying none of that stuff is racist. Its a joke that you could even take any of it serious because they are just sounds bites. Wasnt that the left wing medias excuse for Jermiah Wright, that all of what he said were just sounds bites that were taken out of context? mmmm pretty hypocritical to me. One of you liberals or anyone that writes for this website needs to just watch one whole day of Fox news and then on another day watch one whole day of msnbc, and then realistically think about what station is more biased. Seriously I think you liberals might be surprised that MSNBC is absolutly terribly biased, more then FOX news is. How come they dont ever get a bunch of shit talked about them? HAHA you people at these fake fictional dumb websites are absolutly ridiculous. Seriously think about this stuff.

They will do anything to spread there hate. Fox is a joke. Sadly to many people believe every word fox says.

No Jo it is you stupid fascist racist conservatves who still refuse to recognize Obama as our President. Believe me the Reagan Revolution is all over. The conservatives and the crazy neocons have paid a horrible price for their war in Iraq. They have failed to attack Russia, China, Iran, Cuba, and Venezuela. Instead because Obama plans to restore relations with them they claim that he wouldn't relase his "birth cirtificate". Believe me you conservatives are evil, rascist and fascist. Obama is the President and he will succeed. Oh and go to hell Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, and Glen Beck. You guys all suck
  • Liz
"Believe me you conservatives are evil, rascist and fascist."

Liberal MacPinkoPants here, saying hell naw. Some are, yes, but the vast majority of conservatives, like Muslims, are nothing like the flaming stupidity of their more vocal members.
