NH GOP Drops Out As Fox “Debate” Partner Over Ron Paul etc..
Posted on January 5th, 2008 by Paddy

Seems people aren't happy about these arbitrary rules whether ABC or Fox.

CONCORD, N.H.-New Hampshire's Republican Party has dropped out as a partner of a Fox News Channel presidential forum because the network won't let two low-polling candidates take part.

Party Chairman Fergus Cullen said he has failed in attempts to get Fox to include candidates Ron Paul and Duncan Hunter in Sunday's forum.

"Only in New Hampshire do lesser known, lesser funded underdogs have a fighting chance to establish themselves as national figures," Cullen said. "Consistent with that tradition, we believe all recognized major candidates should have an equal opportunity to participate in pre-primary debates and forums."

One of the best reasons for excluding Ron Paul ('cause you know he's the only one they really want out, the others are just cover) came from Matt over at Open Left entitled "Why Fox News Does Not Want Ron Paul in the Debate"-

In other words, Paul is the candidate of angry independents who are extremely angry with George Bush and believe that debasing the currency through wars and inflation is the stated policy goal of the United States.

    Paul,

Aside from opposing the Civil Rights Act of 1964, it also seems as if Dr. Paul was pretty clear as to what he thought about African-Americans when he was running for Congress in 1996. Take a look at these quotes from Ron Paul’s Newsletter as reported by Alan Bernstein of the Houston Chronicle and you decide. And don't give me the pathetic "oh a staffer wrote that Paul didn't know. It's his responsibility and no one buys it.

"If you have ever been robbed by a black teen-aged male, you know how unbelievably fleet-footed they can be".

"Although we are constantly told that it is evil to be afraid of black men, it is hardly irrational. Black men commit murders, rapes, robberies, muggings and burglaries all out of proportion to their numbers".

"Opinion polls consistently show that only about 5 percent of blacks have sensible political opinions, i.e. support the free market, individual liberty and the end of welfare and affirmative action".

"Politically sensible blacks are outnumbered as decent people".

"I think we can safely assume that 95 percent of the black males in the District of Columbia are semi-criminal or entirely criminal".

"We don't think a child of 13 should be held responsible as a man of 23. That's true for most people, but black males age 13 who have been raised on the streets and who have joined criminal gangs are as big, strong, tough, scary and culpable as any adult and should be treated as such".

"Complex embezzling is conducted exclusively by non-blacks".

How embarrassing is it to this country that a racist can actually be running for president and pulling in millions in campaign contributions. I have to think that many people just don’t know what Ron Paul believes and if they did, they would denounce him and ask for their money back.

He is also anti a woman's right to choose:

"Legislatively, we should focus our efforts on building support to overturn Roe v. Wade. Ideally this would be done in a fashion that allows states to again ban or regulate abortion".

Ron Paul is a fringe lunatic.
  • Paul
    John E.,

I hope he is able to do abolish all those things. Ron Paul is only dangerous if you are interested in maintaining corporate interests and enjoy seeing the increased poverty and wealth divide that all those programs have brought since their conception.

Almost all government controls and regulations are abused by the entities with enough lawyer power to figure out how - leaving the poor to suffer. This is as true with taxes as it is with welfare. Government isn't evil in essence but any government is corruptible. A larger, more powerful government is that much more easily corrupted.

Thomas's attack on you was justified as you make baseless insinuations. Sure, Stormfront supports Ron Paul. How the hell does that make Ron Paul a racist? I'm sure Stormfront appreciates his free market and immigration policies.

So bring on the ultra right-wing, libertarian nut-case. I'm convinced his one of the few sane people left on Capital Hill.
  • John Ehrenfeld
Ron Paul is a strict Constitutionalist, a hallmark just like right-wing judicial despots like Scalia, Roberts and Thomas. Ron Paul thinks government is evil.

Paul would abolish the IRS and the Department of Education. He has said so.

Paul would dismantle Social Security by allowing young people to opt out. He has said so.

Paul is opposed to Medicare and supports Health Savings Accounts like Bush does. He has said so.

Paul believes in the abolition of the Department of the Interior and the Environmental Protection Agency. He has said so.

He opposed the Civil Rights Act of 1964. He has said so.

It's just hysterical seeing Ron Paul groupies try to spin him as being something other than the ultra right-wing, racist, libertarian nut case that he is.
  • Sam
@grayson: No, Ron Paul has always said that his more radical positions, like abolishing the IRS, are predicated by a shift in people's attitudes in terms of what they expect government to provide.

He's not proposing to get rid of the IRS overnight - he's saying that people need to realize that if they get a government whichs STOPS fighting expensive wars and STOPS expensive socialist domestic policies, THEN we can dramatically reduce our taxation and abolish the IRS.

Remember - your federal tax payments to the IRS do not "pave the roads" or pay for firemen, thats all your sales tax/property taxes/etc.
  • Grayson
Ron Paul is a nut! Yeah lets do away with the IRS and replace it with nothing! Hooray! No more income taxes, instead, we will have TARIFFS!

Ron Paul is like the kid that told you to vote for him for SGA president because he would make Dr. Pepper come out of the water fountains.

Yes, not paying any federal taxes sounds like a good idea. But once you think about it for more than a couple of minutes, you realize what a ridiculous candidate Ron Paul is.
  • John Ehrenfeld
Mandy, why do you think Paul is so qualified to discuss the economy? What are his positions on the economy that you like so much?
  • Mandy
This forum sucks without Ron Paul. Who better to discuss the economy than Dr. Paul? Fox messed up big time!
  • Razzorizzo
Giuliani still leads in national polls. The candidates don't campaign in all 50 states.
There is still a long way to

    gohttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republican_Party_(United_States)_presidential_primaries,_2008

Go to this link to see how the primaries work and how many states are involved in Super Tuesday.
  • John Ehrenfeld
Thomnas why don't you deal with the issue of what Ron Paul believes and who supports him instead of personally attacking me. Capable of that?

That quote is taken directly from the Stormfront web site. Does it not disturb you that Neo-Nazis and White Supremacists like Stormfront say they want to "get someone in the Oval Office who agrees with much of what we want for our future"?

    That's Ron Paul.
  • Thomas
In reply to John's comments below,

    1) If I am quoted calling you a lesbian, does that make you one?

    2) Did you type that quote from stormfront or cut and copy it?

A great case can be made that John Ehrenfeld is a disinfo BS atist. Whether he is or not, a neo-con nut, he is outright brainwashed by the TV or part of that system.
